In the individual sectors, there are certainly more specific requirements, but these are recurring. For this reason, some providers develop so-called industry solutions, either as a product or as add-ons.
For example, SAP has developed the SAP Sales Cloud in Retail Execution. This builds on the core of the SAP Sales Cloud and expands the data model and the functions to include use cases that are typical in retail.
Three roles in particular are highlighted :
- Indoor service: The employees are responsible for direct orders, planning and analysis of advertising campaigns. Furthermore, the necessary measures for the sales force are prepared and assigned. Thus, among other things, activity plans are prepared by the office staff, which the field staff should then work through or which they can use as "food for thought" when visiting their customers on site.
- Field service: Almost always on the road, on the way to the customer to check on things. Are all products still available on site, are there problems with the exchange of orders, are the customers satisfied? All this needs to be documented easily and intuitively, and ideally there should be no more paperwork waiting on the desk afterwards.
- Key Account Management: Classical reporting and control of the measures. Global negotiations with customers, e.g. price lists, product range planning, branding calendars, etc. - The key account manager is responsible for ensuring that all assortments are served as comprehensively as possible and that turnover can be generated in the end. This requires effective and efficient reporting.
